The Best Razor For Shaving Your Bikini Area

Ladies, listen: We are going to trim down the options that will help you get the closest shave down there!

Finding the perfect bikini area razor can be a real pain in the behind, and most of you know this all too well.

While most of us have spare razors lying around the house(have a look at my post on the best razor for shaving legs if you don’t already own one), on standby, for those emergency shaving purposes, very few of us actually have the right private-parts trimming tools required to get the job done right the first time around.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll agree that there simply isn’t such a thing as an “all-purpose” razor. You see, all-purpose razors simply won’t cut it when it comes to trimming those delicate areas, unless of course you’re okay with nicks, razor bumps, and heaven forbid, ingrown hairs.

Why You Need a Bikini-Area Shaving Tool

This is pretty simple really. Our lady-bits are extremely delicate and sensitive, which means that the skin down there gets irritated at the drop of a hat. Normal razors – the ones we use for shaving our legs – are also too wide to navigate the tight spaces down there, which only leads to one solution: bikini-area razors are a must for the perfect shave!

Top Picks for the Best Bikini-Area Razors

With the hopes of helping out a bunch of women out there struggling with the larger-than-life battle of bikini hair, I’ve rounded up a few of your best options. Have a look at my selection that includes the best razors for shaving the bikini area!

Number One – Panasonic Close Curves

Panasonic Close Curves

The ES2216PC Electric Shaver for Ladies by Panasonic – better known as Close Curves – came in at the top of my list, and when you’re done reading this review, you’ll agree.

I love this razor’s versatility because you can literally use it for any part of the body, not just your bikini area. The Close Curves will also help minimize any nicks and cuts and will easily move around the tight area down there.

When I tried out this razor, I was super impressed by the fact that it’s a rechargeable, and since the unit’s charger is so small and discreet, it’s easy to take along wherever you go to shave as it’s needed.

Wondering about its waterproof rating? Well, put your worries behind you because the Close Curves can be submerged and is totally waterproof, making it ideal for when you feel like shaving your legs while relaxing in the tub!

I can imagine you’re feeling a little unsure about this model because it has a wider head than most other bikini razors, but let me tell you why you need to take my word for it and just try it: there’s method behind this madness. You see, the head has 3 pivoting heads that easily curves and moves around the tight bikini-area skin.

Then there’s the deal with hypoallergenic razors: this one absolutely ticks all the boxes. The Panasonic Close Curves may help you suffer from fewer skin irritations. It also comes with a handy pop-up trimming tool, which is ideal for the very-intimate parts that normally end up with razor bumps after a close shave.

The Pros:

  • It’s very versatile
  • It’s rechargeable
  • It’s waterproof
  • It’s very lightweight
  • Can be used in wet and dry scenarios

The Cons:

  • It has a runtime of roughly 20 minutes on a full-charge
  • It’s a bit expensive
  • The head is a lot wider than most other bikini trimmers, making it a bit intimidating for most women.

Number Two – Braun Silk-èpil FG1100

Braun Silk-epil FG1100

Braun’s Bikini Hair Electric Shaver, Styler and Trimmer is kind of the real deal package, and if the name was the only advertising I ever got exposed to, it would have closed the sale for me.

The Silk- èpil experience for me was almost like owning my very own barber shop, well, one that specializes in the trimming of delicate areas in any case. This is, at the very least, a feminine precision trimming tool, and let me tell you, I don’t know if there’s anything that this lady won’t be able to handle.

Styling or delicately shaving the bikini area is as easy as popping on the precision head, which comes with the unit. If you feel like you don’t have a clue as to which “lady-parts style” you’re keen on, juts have a look at the templates that Braun throws in to give you a little inspiration!

Next I tried the T-Shaped Head, which was ideal for trimming my bikini line, down to the “T”. I was impressed by the tool’s ability to shave and trim the most delicate skin without even causing any razor bumps or nicks.

The FG1100 also comes with a 5mm and 8mm comb to help us women ensure that all of your bikini-area hair is timed to the same length.

The Pros:

  • It’s super versatile
  • Comes with a precision head
  • Comes with a T-Shaped trimming head and 2 different combs
  • It’s very small and effective

The Cons:

  • It’s powered by a single AAA battery, resulting in a short runtime and a bigger need for keeping stock on hand.
  • It can only be used dry, so no water contact is allowed with the unit.

Number Three – Philips HP6378 Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer

Philips HP6378 Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer

Okay so the number two pick might have had you fooled, leading you to believe it could epilate, but this one can actually do that trick, and it does it pretty darn accurate as well. The Philips Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer actually comes with 6 different attachments, making it a 6-in-one, which does everything from bikini-line trimming to eyebrow shaping!

To make grooming the bikini area super effortless, the Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer comes with a precision trimmer and comb, the latter offering you a length setting of between 2-and-10mm.

What’s interesting is the fact that this unit comes with a micro-razor attachment, which allows you to easily get the closest shave possible, say goodbye to that stubble ladies! Apart from that awesomeness, there’s also the exfoliating glove, tweezers, carrying case and rechargeable battery that completes the package!

The Pros:

  • It has 6 different attachments, so it’s very versatile.
  • It comes with a precision trimmer.
  • It’s hypoallergenic
  • Comes with an epilator attachment
  • Can be used wet or dry

The Cons:

  • It’s crazy expensive when compared to my other picks.
  • It needs a 10-hour charging time before it can be used.
  • It might not be the most effective bikini-hair trimmer on the market.

Number Four – Schick Trimstyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer

Schick Trimstyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer

The Schick Trimstyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer comes in as my 4th best overall pick for the battle of the bikini-hair banishers. Even with all the competition on the market these days, Schick is still one of the most prominent and reliable brands in the hair-removal game, which is mainly why I just had to include their Quattro in this roundup.

What I like about the Trimstyle is its simplicity that works just the way I want and need it to. You see, this razor is double-sided, and the best thing about it is that it’s disposable, making it much more affordable than any of my previously mentioned picks. So the main reasons why I like it, has to do with: small profile, convenience, and the fact that it fits my budget perfectly.

This razor has a wide, pivoting head, which easily reaches the little crannies down there, but I also liked the fact that it came with a bikini trimmer, fitted at the bottom of the unit, which is operated by a AAA battery.

Although this unit can be used wet and dry (thanks to the waterproof rating and contoured rubber handle), I have to admit that this is a bikini-shaver ONLY, it won’t be very effective on other parts of your body and also doesn’t come with a range of attachments.

The Pros:

  • It’s very affordable
  • It’s double-sided
  • It’s small and convenient to use
  • Comes with a contoured rubber handle and it’s totally waterproof.

The Cons:

  • It’s not as versatile as any of my other top picks.
  • It doesn’t come with a range of attachments.

Number Five – Cleancut PS335

Cleancut PS335

The T-Shape Personal Shaver from Cleancut was my final competitor for this throw down, and if you’re like me – someone who likes the simple and effective stuff – then I’m betting you’ll be into it as well. Sometimes it’s really worth the effort owning something that doesn’t come with a carrying case or a stellar handle, and this case just proves my point. I like the fact that the T-Shape shaver has slim profile, making it easy to take along wherever you go, and even easier to get the job done (right) the first time.

For the most part, I found that the Cleancut T-Shape delivers on its promise of helping me perfect those “landing strip” and “Brazilian” looks, and the fact that this razor delivers one of the closest and neatest shaves out there, just makes the deal a whole lot sweeter.

The only possible downside of the Cleancut T-Shape is the fact that it runs on one single battery, and I’m not entirely sure what kind of battery because the unit comes fitted with a power source. The thing is: when the battery power runs out, you can’t remove or replace the battery, which means that the only place your razor’s future is going is in the bathroom bin!

The Pros:

  • It’s simple yet effective
  • Has a slender, curved design
  • Offers a neat and close shave
  • It’s easy to maneuver
  • It’s affordable

The Cons:

  • It doesn’t come with a bunch of attachments or floating heads.
  • Runs on a non-standard battery, which cannot be replaced.
  • It’s not waterproof so it cannot be used in the shower.
